Coordinated Technology Installations For Denny’s New Store Openings

In 2022, we began discussions with Denny’s that extended into 2023. These conversations led to a conclusion: Denny’s needed HonorBuilt to manage the installation of Xenial POS, KDS, mobile tablets configuration, back-office standardization, and structured cabling for new store openings. They required a single vendor to handle the complexity of these projects, covering everything from hardware procurement and staging to configuration and coordinated installations, all while managing shifting construction timelines.

HonorBuilt was awarded a few pilot locations in Fall of 2023. One of the first stores was in Coachella Valley, CA. “HonorBuilt was professional, punctual, and did a fantastic job on the installation. The hardware, power supply, and cabling were clean and organized. I appreciate their help in getting my new restaurant open for the community. I highly recommend this team for any Denny’s location,” said franchisee Gary Woodford.

Due to our success in the 2023 pilots, Denny’s awarded HonorBuilt all procurement, staging, project management and installations for future Denny’s restaurants.

“Before HonorBuilt, keeping new restaurant openings on schedule was a challenge,” said Meghan Turner, EPMO Director at Denny’s. “HonorBuilt has taken this entire process off our plate, allowing us to focus on other priorities. They have been responsive and have helped us keep our franchisees satisfied.”

Rock-Solid New Openings Process

Our comprehensive staging and configuration capabilities, supported by a nationwide W2 workforce, were the key differentiators in securing this partnership.

HonorBuilt employs a meticulous process for staging and configuration, ensuring that each piece of technology is thoroughly tested and ready for installation before it reaches the site. Our 40,000 square foot configuration center allows us to manage large volumes of equipment efficiently, reducing onsite installation time and minimizing disruptions to restaurant operations. All of this is shepherded by a dedicated project manager giving customers a single point of contact.

“HonorBuilt’s ability to manage and execute our new restaurant openings with such precision has been remarkable,” said Jim Batchler-Smith, VP of IT at Denny’s. “Their speed and efficiency have significantly enhanced our rollout process.”

HonorBuilt continues to be the preferred vendor for new restaurant openings (NROs) for many major brands. In 2024 alone, HonorBuilt expects to support over 800 new openings across all the brands they serve in 2024 alone..
